Duties/Responsibilities:
Experimental Design and Execution
• Designs, plans, and conducts molecular biology experiments using techniques such as cloning, PCR, sequencing, and recombinant protein expression and purification.
• Develops, validates, and optimizes protocols and assays for DNA/RNA manipulation and expression systems.
• Performs transcription profiling, hybridization assays, and array-based analyses to support research objectives.
• Executes experiments with minimal supervision, ensuring data integrity and reproducibility.
Data Analysis and Documentation
• Compiles, analyzes, and interprets experimental data using statistical and bioinformatics tools.
• Maintains accurate, detailed laboratory notebooks and experimental records.
• Prepares technical reports, summaries, and presentations for internal review.
• Participates in data reviews and communicates findings clearly to project teams.
Collaboration and Project Support
• Works cross-functionally with other R&D scientists to support technology development and product innovation.
• Contributes to project planning, prioritization, and troubleshooting of complex experimental challenges.
• Provides guidance and technical mentorship to junior associates and laboratory staff.
• Assists in the preparation of technical documentation, publications, and regulatory submissions as needed.
Laboratory Operations and Compliance
• Maintains laboratory equipment, instruments, and workspaces in compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Adheres to established protocols and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Ensures proper handling and disposal of biological materials and reagents.
• Participates in continuous improvement efforts to enhance laboratory efficiency and safety.
Continuous Learning and Innovation
• Stays current with emerging molecular biology methodologies and technologies.
• Identifies opportunities to improve experimental workflows and technical capabilities.
• Contributes to knowledge sharing and technical development within the team.
Experience/Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field and 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience; or
• Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in molecular biology research or applied biotechnology.
Knowledge & Skillsets Required:
• Advanced knowledge of molecular cloning, PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, sequencing, and recombinant protein expression.
• Experience with cDNA library construction, probe generation, and hybridization techniques.
• Proficiency in using sequence analysis and bioinformatics tools.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to independently execute complex experiments and troubleshoot effectively.
• Commitment to maintaining quality, safety, and accuracy in all laboratory activities.
