Microchem Specialized Lab Services seeks to recruit x 2 Microbiologists at our lab in Cape Town. The applicant must have a clear criminal record, able to work shifts and 1 - 3 years' experience working in a commercial laboratory.

SUMMARY:

· Direct and perform microbiological analysis using standard testing protocols.

· Perform general responsibilities in the laboratory to ensure best laboratory practices are maintained.

· Individuals must be conversant with QA/QC, ISO 17025 requirements, and Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

· Assist Lab Management in performing operations of the Microbiology Lab.

· Assist with technical training and evaluation of competence.

OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB:

· Thorough understanding of the principles of Food Microbiology.

· Perform microbiological analysis using standard testing protocols.

· Operate within ISO 17025 requirements with the ability to follow procedures precisely.

· Individuals must be conversant with Good Laboratory Practices, QA/QC, and standard operating procedures.

• 1 - 3 years experience
• BSc ( Microbiology, Biotechnology or equivalent)
• ND: Biotechnology
• ND: Food Science/Technology
