Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, rotating weekends and holidays.

Job Description

The Laboratory Technician will analyze samples of blood, tissue, and body fluids to determine chemical content, cell count, drug levels, or blood type. The technician may also search for specific microorganisms, such as bacteria or parasites, providing crucial information for patient diagnosis and treatment through laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

• Utilize an outward mindset to support team goals and objectives.
• Prepare reagents, quality control samples, and calibrators for routine and special tests.
• Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance on laboratory instrumentation.
• Conduct patient testing across various areas of the laboratory.
• Report and perform quality control and recalibrations as necessary.
• Draw blood specimens from patients as required.
• Communicate critical results according to protocol.
• Maintain accurate records and process specimens effectively.
• Assist hospital staff with testing information and criteria.
• Answer phones and relay information professionally.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of current laboratory experience – Required
• ASCP certification – Required
• Phlebotomy experience – Highly preferred
• Prior travel experience – Preferred
• Associate’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences – Required
