Senior Medical Technologist- Immunology

We are currently seeking a Senior Medical Technologist to join our diverse and dynamic team. As a Senior Medical Technologist at ICON, you will play a critical role in conducting complex laboratory analyses and tests to support clinical trials and research studies. You will ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives and maintain high-quality standards.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Performing advanced laboratory tests and analyses in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
  • Overseeing laboratory operations, including sample processing, equipment maintenance, and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Collaborating with clinical research teams to support study design and implement laboratory methods that align with project goals.
  • Interpreting and validating test results, providing technical expertise, and troubleshooting any laboratory issues that may arise.
  • Training and mentoring junior laboratory staff, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the laboratory environment.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of laboratory protocols, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Assisting with audits and inspections by providing documentation and demonstrating adherence to laboratory standards and practices.
  • Staying current with advances in laboratory technologies and methodologies, ensuring the laboratory employs cutting-edge practices.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., ASCP, AMT) is a plus. Must have NY State CLS License.
  • Extensive experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with a strong understanding of laboratory operations and quality assurance processes.
  • Proven ability to perform complex laboratory tests and analyses, with expertise in specific areas of medical technology.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and ethical practices in laboratory operations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call responsibilities as needed.
