Description:

Saint Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury CT        ATTACH A RESUME

You would be responsible for providing highly skilled analysis of blood, fluids and tissue samples in the Lab. You would also be working in the hospital's blood bank. Your work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients.

What you will do:

  • Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.

  • Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures

  • Ensures operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Position Hours:
40 hours, Day Shifts, rotating weekends/holidays


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology in NAACLS accredited MT program or Associate’s Degree in MLT certification program.

  • MLS or MT-ASCP equivalent level certification offered by one of the professional societies.  Or must achieve certification within the first year of employment. 

  • Strong Blood Bank experience.
