Phlebotomist – Donor Services: Collects units of blood or blood components from volunteer blood donors while monitoring collection equipment and the donor for signs of adverse reactions. Performs vital signs, point of care testing, and reviews standard questionnaire to evaluate safety of blood donor and transfusion recipient. Adheres to all standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the collection of blood components to meet quality and safety requirements. Recruits and schedules blood donors for donation appointments. Performs apheresis collections using specialized equipment and/or collects blood at mobile blood drive locations. Reviews documents for quality assurance, performs competency observations, and leads troubleshooting for blood collection processes when needed.
**Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic**

High School Diploma or equivalent and 18 months of phlebotomy experience. Blood banking experience preferred. Customer service experience. Ability to have flexible day shift start and end times. Ability to effectively work independently and with multiple team members. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS). Individuals without BCLS will be required to successfully complete the course within 6 months of employment. A valid driver's license.
