Here’s What You Need

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required

  • Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required

  • 6 Months experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy is preferred

  • Phlebotomy skills are Strongly preferred

  • Hospital experience is a plus

  • PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician Upon Hire is preferred And

  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment. Strong critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills. Proficient in basic computer skills. Prefer\: Venipuncture skills with all age groups. 

     

What You Will Do 

  • For those entities performing phlebotomy; employee follows laboratory procedure for specimen collection, patient identification and labeling as appropriate for the age of the patient

  • Follows laboratory procedures for handling, and processing in a manner which is appropriate and follows safety guidelines

  • Follows laboratory procedures for handling unacceptable specimens

     

  • Helps other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care

     

  • Demonstrates ability to perform specimen processing protocols

  • Checks outstanding collection list

  • Troubleshoots and follows through on outstanding collections which appear to have not been collected/received when expected

Work hours\: Part-time, 24 hours per week Schedule\: Tuesday through Friday 5\:00am -11\:00am
